CHP Deputy Ercan Cengiz resigns
Turkey's main opposition party, Republican People's Party, CHP, deputy Ercan Cengiz resigned from his party on Thursday.Cengiz has had disputes with other deputies from CHP, most recently within the Commission that was investigating the alleged corruption case for the four AK Party ministers. He had also resigned from the Commission, reportedly as a result of the disputes.The number of CHP deputies in the parliament has decreased to 126, with the current resignation. Most recently, other CHP deputies Emine Ülker Tarhan, Emrehan Halıcı and Süheyl Batum had also cut ties with the party.
