Spanish Latin Grammy-winning singer Concha Buika, who is popular in Turkey, will be a guest of İş Sanat once again on the night of Dec. 21, as part of her world tour.
The tour is to mark the launch of her new album, "Para mi." The New York Times says: "She has a misty and dominant voice. She is like Nina Simone but she is more flexible and virtuoso." Having released her first album in 2000, Buika managed to attract attraction of both critics and listeners. She brings a breath of fresh air to world music, combining the harmony of flamenco, jazz, blues, soul, reggae, funk, rumba, R&B and gospel with the effect of her ethnic past.
Having been chosen as one of the 50 Great Voices of the World, Buika won two Latin Grammy Awards for two of her albums, "El Ultimo Trago" and "La Noche Mas Larga."
The diva, who has performed at many festivals such as the Montreux, Barcelona and the Kopenhag Jazz Festivals, has collaborated with renowned figures such as Anoushka Shankar, Chick Corea, Seal, Nelly Furtado and Chucho Valdes. Buika continues to give extraordinary performances in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.
