Divanhana, the master of Sevdalinka (a traditional genre of folk music from Bosnia and Herzegovina) and traditional Balkan music is coming to Istanbul on Oct. 22 at the İş Sanat Cultural Center to give an unforgettable performance. The city of Istanbul will be replete with Sevdalinka, which dates back to the Ottoman reign in the Balkans and a music genre that people use to express their love, longing, melancholy, passion and joy. Suzan Kardeş, the musician who made Balkan music popular in Turkey, will accompany the alternative folk music band Divanhana.

Divanhana came together after Sarajevo Music Academy students decided to modernize Bosnian music in 2009. The band gives a music feast to their fans with traditional accordion vocals accompanied by wind instruments, piano, bass and drums.

The band is composed of Naida Catic on vocals, Neven Tunjic on piano, Nedzad Musovic on the accordion, Azur Imamovic on bass guitar, Rifet Camdzic on drums and Irfan Tahirovic on percussion. With the changes that applied to Balkan music, Divanhana takes Sevdalinka out of the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The band, who released their debut album in 2011, received great feedback from their fans with their latest studio album "Zukva."
