Guns n' Roses to reunite for 21-city US tour

In a cryptic video posted to their website, Guns n' Roses Friday announced a summer 2016 tour of 21 US cities, including Nashville, New York, San Francisco and Seattle. No further details about dates or locations were given. The video was captioned only "Patience" - a reference to their hit 1988 song, and, perhaps, to how long fans have been waiting for a reunion. The shows will bring Guns n Roses frontman Axl Rose back together on stage with lead guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan for the first time in 23 years. Plans made public so far do not include rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin. The itinerary makes an official tour out of what had until now been just a handful of "historic" reunion shows, beginning with a pair of sold-out concerts in Las Vegas April 8 and 9.Later in April, the reconfigured Guns n' Roses will also play both weekends of the Coachella music festival in Indio, California, April 16 and 23, with a flyby to Mexico City in between. The new tour dates mean Rose has a busy year ahead of him - even more so if rumours that he will tour with AC/DC as well turn out to be true.According to news reports citing sources close to AC/DC, Rose will fill in for AC/DC singer Brian Johnson on 10 US concerts later this year. Neither band has confirmed or denied the rumours. The Australian rock band postponed the end of its "Rock or Bust" US tour amid Johnson's critical hearing loss, and promised fans the shows would be made up "likely with a guest vocalist."
