Famous violin virtuoso to perform in Istanbul
Award-winning British violinist Daniel Hope will perform compositions by Vivaldi, Shostakovich and Mozart on March 17 at İş Sanat. Praised by The New York Times as "adventurous and magnificent" and by The London Observer as "the most exciting English stringed instrument player since Jacqueline du Pre," Hope will perform alongside the Paris Chamber Orchestra, one of the most prominent French orchestras.Hope, who was praised by BBC Music Magazine as "one of the names [to which] we can [en]trust the future of contemporary violin," has performed under the baton of the most accomplished maestros around the world, including Kurt Masur, Christian Thielemann, Sir Roger Norrington, Sakari Oramo, Kent Nagano, Daniel Harding, Semyon Bychkov, Mstislav Rostropovich and Leonard Slatkin, and collaborated with different figures of world music such as Anne Sofie von Otter, Menahem Pressler, Thomas Hampson, Sting, Thomas Ades, Edgar Meyer, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Zakir Hussain, Jeffrey Kahane, David Finckel, Wu Han, Lynn Harrell, Jaime Laredo and Sebastian Knauer.Hope performed at the world premiere of Prokofiev's 1914 violin concerto at BBC Proms during the 2014 -2015 season. His studio album "East Meets West," which includes the compositions of Ravi Shankar, attracted classic music lovers around the world.
