Turkish motorcyclist Kenan Sofuoğlu was crowned 2016 World Supersport Champion, breaking his own record to win his fifth world title.
Kwasaki Puccetti Racing's Sofuoğlu attained 216 points, followed by France's Jules Cluzel with 142 and Swiss Randy Krummenacher with 140.
"I dedicate it to my country, to Turkey," Sofuoğlu told Anadolu Agency.
The 32-year old had won the first two titles with Hannspree Ten Kate Honda, in 2007 and 2010. He later became a Kawasaki rider in 2012 and was won his third title the same year. He won a fourth championship in 2015.
Sofuoğlu is the only racer to triumph five times in the Supersport World Championship.
Meanwhile, in the world of billards, Turkey's Murat Naci Çoklu won his second 3 Tape Billiards World Cup 2016 champion in France on Sunday by beating Spanish Daniel Sanchez 40-20.
The-42-year-old won his first World Cup last year in Istanbul.
