NIDOFF members performed a thrilling drift show –a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers the car- at 2,000 meters on the It Ulumaz Peak of Ala Mountains located at the Nigde province in the Central Anatolian region of Turkey. The Ala Mountains are a mountain chain consisting of approximately 60 high ridges boasting perfect conditions for many sporting activities. Ozay Cinar, head of NIDOFF, founded three months ago by outdoor sports lovers, told reporters that the Ala Mountains are highly suitable for many sports including off-road racing. Cinar reported that they have been performing off-road sports individually and after some time, they decided to carry out their activities under a sports club. Hence, they gathered all off-road enthusiasts in the Nigde region, who are involved in off-road racing or drive off-road vehicles. "The Nigde region is geographically perfect for outdoor sporting activities, including off-road racing. Our aim for the near future is to organize professional off-road competitions with the support of the federation. We are also working on building a racetrack for a nationwide off-road competition," Cinar said.Club members said that they indulge in driving under all weather conditions, regardless of the cold, rain or snow. Cinar mentioned that they travelled to the It Ulumaz Peak of the Ala Mountain range to perform a spinning show at 2,000 meters above ground level, unaware of what conditions awaited them on the snow-cladded bumpy roads. "From time to time, our vehicles were stuck in the snow, some vehicles even broke down. However, we did not care. For us, this is the fun and exciting part of the sport. It was all very fun. There are people who believe we cause damage to nature. On the contrary, we solely drive on stabilized roads in nature and up to the point allowed by Mother Nature. We do not cause any damage. The only thing we leave behind is the tracks of our tires.
