Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), the armed wing of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), have expelled residents of the town of Sarrin in Syria's northern Aleppo province after wresting it from the ISIS group, according to a local source.Abdel-Malek al-Sheikh, a former member of Aleppo's Free Governorate Council, told Anadolu Agency that YPG forces had "forcibly transferred more than 5,000 of Sarrin's Arab residents to the village of Salalu and the area around the Tishrin Dam -both of which are currently held by ISIS- and the town of Al-Qubba south of Ayn al-Arab [also known as Kobani], which is held by the Free Syrian Army."YPG forces, al-Sheikh asserted, had killed several people and detained scores of others after Sarrin residents protested their expulsion from the village.Local media activists told Anadolu Agency that YPG forces had "detained 150 residents after wresting the town from ISIS and torched several homes claiming their owners were ISIS members."Syrian activists have recently accused the YPG of committing violations against Turkmen and Arab residents of Syria's northern Al-Hasakah and Raqqa provinces.
