Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi avoided flying over Turkish airspace on his way back to Egypt from the Russian city of Sochi on August 13.
Airbus 340-200 type aircraft belonging to the Egyptian government, at first avoided Ukrainian airspace due to safety fears and headed to Cairo flying over airspaces of Belarus, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
Under normal conditions, the plane could have arrived in Egypt using Turkey's airspace in 3 hours 20 minutes. As it was seen, Sisi's plane made a U-turn in order not to cross Turkish airspace.
