Thrace's hills to host first ever paragliding festival

Turkey's Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs is getting ready to host the first ever paragliding festival in Tekirdağ tomorrow.

According to the written statement released by the ministry, the festival, which was initiated after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call for a natural tourism campaign, will take place with the motto "If there is forest and water, there is life."

The festival is scheduled to kick off tomorrow, on May 8, at 03:00 p.m. Festival goers will have a chance to watch professional paragliding shows, paramotor flights, taste local delights and attend panel sessions and various workshops.

As part of the festival, a live radio broadcast will be done on the sky by a paraglider for the first time in the world. An episode of the award-winning radio show "Tabiatın Sesi" (The Sound of Nature) will be broadcast as paragliders fly over the Thracian skies.

Entertainment in the festival area will continue until the night.
