On the other hand, the most trending topics of 2017 were "Milli Piyango 2017" (Turkish lottery), "Stres çarkı" (fidget spinner), "YSK" (Turkey's Supreme Election Board), "e-okul" (online student information system for parents) and "referendum sonuçları" (referendum results).

Most Googled names in 2017 were Vatan Şaşmaz, Filiz Aker, İbrahim Erkal, Harun Kolçak, Cem Korkmaz, Metin Hara, Tayfun Talipoğlu and Tarkan

Meanwhile, Matt Lauer, Bitcoin, DACA, Monkey selfies, Jeremy Lin's hair, Do-it-yourself eclipse glasses, Tom Petty's death, National anthem protests in the NFL, and "Cash Me Outside," were among the top trending topics on Google in 2017.

The top global searches for 2017 were: Hurricane Irma, iPhone 8, iPhone X, Matt Lauer, Meghan Markle, 13 Reasons Why, Tom Petty, Fidget Spinner, Chester Bennington, and India National Cricket Team.
