Like and join Turkey's first social media bazaar at historic station


Social media is a primary vehicle for brands for the promotion of products and a quite high number of Turkish users take this as an advantage by running their own "online" shopping stores, selling ready-made or handcrafted items.From Dec. 24 to Dec. 25, "LikeFest," a debut festival aiming to become Turkey's biggest social media bazaar, will create a unique opportunity for Turkish online brands to introduce and better promote their items. At the historic Sirkeci Train Station on Istanbul's Asian side, the festival will bring Instagram photographers, musicians, painters, wood engravers, creative tailors as well as fashion, accessories and home decor designers attracting thousands of Turkish and international users online. There will be workshop sessions and talks with Instagram's favorite names from Turkey. The event is free of charge.Social media has led to a boom in the e-trade industry over the last few years with the arrival of new business fields. Consumers are heavily influenced by the choices of their friends, and brands are using social media to capture attention. On Instagram, users sell engage in home decoration, accessories, women's wear and organic products. According to Turkey's Women Entrepreneurs Association (KAGİDER), 20 percent of their members run their business via Instagram. More Turkish women are running their own businesses through Instagram, advertising and selling their handmade or atelier work on their accounts.
