A show with dozens of professional and amateur freestyle sports enthusiasts brings hundreds of spectators together each year in Istanbul. Scheduled to take place from May 28 to May 29, the 6th Istanbul Extreme Sports Fest will once again be a large event where athletes defy gravity by skateboarding, BMX, bungee jumping, motocross and rollerblading on special platforms.
Each year, the qualifiers and finals attract many fans. The festival's previous editions hosted Brian Shaw, an American professional strongman competitor and winner of the World's Strongest Man four consecutive times, as well as XPogo Stunt team members like Biff Hutchison and Dmitry Arsenyev. Turkey's biggest bungee jumping platform is also erected at the event venue each year.
Master athletes will showcase their skills to the jury and the winners will share a monetary prize of TL 10,000 ($3,327). The festival will take place at the Istanbul Forum shopping mall and those interested can register via Facebook.
