Urban Trends: Flavors that make you fly

I have always found airports pleasant and full of excitement. I have also always tried to make as much as I can with the quality time spent at airports, which are often the starting points of new memories. When I consider airports in Turkey, I notice that they really have differing standards. It is obvious that airport operations are very important for a pleasurable arrival and departure, and the quality of operations might easily change everything to a great extent. In this sense, I have always appreciated the vision of Sani Şener, the CEO of the TAV Group, the management quality of TAV airport operations and the rapidity of applying novelties in comparison to operations abroad. I also appreciate the brands they incorporate. The most colorful and delicious incorporated brand is BTA, which features numerous foodstuffs. There are many Turkish brands under the BTA umbrella. As I see it, Cakes & Bakes is the most ambitious among them. Even though it seems like an Austrian or English brand, I consider Cakes & Bakes the most successful local cafe concept in the sense of brand positioning. They might not produce their own coffee, but it has an exportable concept with its brand stance, European ambiance and decoration, swiftness and practicality suitable to the psychology of an airport and the delicacies on its menu. The cafe chain where cookbooks and decorative objects are also on sale offers the freshest cakes and bakes, as the name implies. Their pizzas, pies and especially cheesecakes are delicious. My favorite is the lemon cheesecake, and I like the rose tea the best, as one can find numerous varieties of original teas and coffees. In addition to cheesecakes, Danish-style fruitcakes are also delicious; my favorite is the pineapple. You should definitely visit Cakes & Bakes, whose interior decor contains the colors cream, brown and white, before your flight. There, you can discover this proud Turkish brand that does not remain limited to their store locations, as it supplies products to 128 different fast food and coffee brands in Turkey, and sweetens the most pleasant excitement of the experience before your flight.Journey to Anatolia without flyingIf you plan to visit the domestic flight terminals at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport or Ankara's Esenboğa Airport, the ferry terminals at the Yenikapı or Güzelyalı IDO docks or Uniq Istanbul in Maslak this week, you will have the opportunity to taste numerous original delicacies of Anatolia generously presented at Tadında Anadolu, managed by BTA.Each product is shelved with the local brand of the province where it won fame, including various products from tomato jam to grass juice molasses. Prices at Tadında Anadolu are a bit on the expensive side, but the quality is first class. In the restaurant right next to the aisles, the vapors from the dishes special to Anatolia, the names of which you might hear for the first time, wreathe. The presentation is rather authentic, and the dishes are offered in casserole dishes and wicker baskets. I applaud the creators of Tadinda Anadolu for supporting Anatolian brands, promoting local producers and presenting Turkish gusto to the world. I honestly believe that Tadında Anadolu and Cakes & Bakes, managed by the successful CEO of BTA, Sadettin Cesur, are some of the best Turkish concepts to be offered abroad.Discover lounge joyAirport lounges are indispensable for frequent travelers. The lounges of banks, airlines and airport operators are pleasurable places to begin travels with excitement. If you have not discovered them, you can be sure that TAV Primeclass lounges promise a pleasurable beginning to your travels in many different airports in Turkey with the privileges and benefits they offer. You can take advantage of Primeclass lounges by having one of the various TAV Passport Cards that allow you to spend quality time with its menu and relaxing decor before your flight. A TAV Passport Card provides advantages, such as using a dedicated airport entrance, quickly going through immigration, free-of-charge valet parking, shopping discounts, airport transfers, dedicated car parks and a Primeclass lounge that promises various delicacies and quality service. The dishes in Primeclass Lounges are fresh, and they are suitable to have before a flight. They are mild but saturating and delicious - not a rich menu but definitely enough. Easy-to-digest treats are carefully prepared to ready your stomach for the flight as needed in lounges all around the world. The pastel colors used in the decor prepare you for a relaxed flight, and the cocktails prepared by experienced bartenders help you relax. I tried a sahlep cocktail and a Nutella shot there for the first time. Mini-parties started in winter and continue using the concept of happy Friday on Friday nights, with DJ Hakan Kabil preparing passengers for an entertaining weekend. Moreover, the Internet infrastructure and workstations that provide a working environment before flights are satisfactory. The only thing missing is the scantiness of the variety of newspapers and magazines. The friendly faces of the welcoming hostesses wearing red jackets in Primeclass Lounges can be regarded as a reason to miss a flight. My personal expectation in the lounges is to provide a short and quick massage to passengers, as I have seen some examples abroad.Three most popular restaurants this weekBack Yard / EtilerPaella / KireçburnuHikmet Steakhouse / YeşilköyThree most popular venues this weekKozmonot/ NişantaşıGizli Kalsın / EmirganSignature / LevazımThree most popular brand hotels this weekCentral Palace Bosporus / SarıyerI Love You / ÇeşmeHistoria / SultanahmetThree brand representatives you should follow this weekSelim Demir (Event organizer)Esra Türker (PR)Efe Babacan (Photographer)Three not-to-miss events next weekMay 6 - Ahmet Kanneci Concert (Caddebostan Culture Center)May 8 - Can Kazaz Concert (Bronx Pi Sahne) May 9 - Dimitri Vegas - Like Mike (Küçükçiftlik Park)May 9 - Dimitri Vegas - Like Mike (Küçükçiftlik Park)
