A recently conducted survey by MAK Consultancy has revealed that 63 percent of the Turkish public expressed their support for a "Turkish presidential system."
The survey, which was conducted in 25 provinces and 160 districts across Turkey from Oct. 10 to Oct. 15, also revealed strong support for the concord between the government and opposition parties at 79 percent. Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım recently said that switching to a presidential system will be the biggest structural reform and ensure stability for the country.
With the E.U. continuing to insist that Turkey redefine its counterterrorism law in order to be granted visa-free travel to Europe for Turkish citizens, 44 percent of the public responded by urging the government to halt Turkey's EU accession process.
