One of the leading figures of the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK), an umbrella network that includes the PKK, Bese Hozat, explicitly threatened President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar in a column he wrote for a PKK-affiliated media outlet in Europe.Blaming Erdoğan, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Akar for allegedly not taking lessons from Kobani, Hozat said: "Erdoğan, the AK Party or Hulusi Akar did not take any lessons from Kobani. It is obvious that they need a new, but stronger lesson. We have no doubt in teaching them this lesson as they deserve it with the resistance of our people."
Hozat went on to criticize and blame the AK Party for assigning governors, police commissioners and district governors in eastern and southeastern provinces, who he thinks are members of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).
As Turkey stands unified against PKK terror with many nongovernmental organizations and Kurdish tribes calling on the terrorist organization to cease its deadly attacks, the PKK has yet to stand down.
While the PKK continues to make threats and kill security officers, Ankara preserves its firm stance and vows to fight terror at all costs. Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu underscored the only notion Ankara has in mind, saying: "These mountains will be cleansed of terrorists. They will be cleansed whatever the cost may be. The mountains, plains, plateaus and cities of this country will not be abandoned to terrorists. "
