The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has erected a large heart-shaped platform in Taksim Square to celebrate Valentine's Day.
The giant heart shaped frame is adorned with red carnations and is situated on the side of the square leading to Istiklal Caddesi.
The Valentine's Day structure is two sided and includes benches and a celebration message from Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbaş.
Domestic and foreign passersby alike have shown great interest in the platform, with many people stopping to take photos and selfies in front of the "sevgili" structure.
With many shops offering Valentine's Day promotions and an uptick in weekend sales, February 14 is expected to contribute TL 9 billion ($2.4 billion) to the country's economy this year.
