A woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at the Kozyatağı station of the M-4 Kadıköy – Kartal subway line, she was killed instantly.

The 41-year-old woman, identified with the initials N.K., committed suicide approximately at 12:30 p.m. local time as services were disrupted. Passengers waiting at the station notified station officials and police units about the incident. The station was cordoned off as firefighter units and ambulances arrived at the scene.

After the inspection of the scene by crime scene investigation units and the prosecutors, the body was removed from the tracks and sent to Kartal Training and Research Hospital's morgue for examination.

Services were halted to Kartal direction for 2.5 hours, and they were later resumed on one track in Kozyatağı station.

Police have launched an investigation on the incident.
