The total dams' storage levels in Istanbul have now reached 95.1 percent level on average, an increase from only 17.2 percent in August 2014. The current water volume in the dams of Istanbul are still increasing as a result of persistent rain and melting snowfall, according to information obtained by the Istanbul Water and Sewage Administration (İSKİ).After the drought in Istanbul in August 2014, some dams had then alarming storage levels. Pabuçdere, one of the worst-hit dams, was out of use with 0.44 percent storage level. The other dams were also severely affected by the drought. Yet, later on they have benefited from the rainy and snowy seasons which Istanbul has been witnessing.It has been recently reported that Istanbul's four dams, Ömerli, Kazandere, Darlık and Istrancalar have currently 100 percent storage capacity while another dam, Sazlıdere, has the least water storage among a total of ten dams with 67.46 percent.
