Daesh militant plotting to smuggle arms into Turkey nabbed


Police in the central city of Kayseri detained Syrian national Ahmed al-Adnani on Friday, on charges of an attempt to smuggle arms into Turkey from Syria to be used in attacks by the terrorist group Daesh. Al-Adnani, whose nom de guerre was Abu Abdo, was traveling in a car from the central city of Konya to Kayseri when he was stopped by police within Kayseri city limits. Four others in the car were detained on charges of aiding and abetting a terrorist group while al-Adnani was remanded in custody on terror charges. Media outlets reported that the suspect sneaked into Turkey through the border province of Hatay and first traveled to Konya before leaving for Kayseri.
