Police arrests 14 in anti-narcotics operations


Turkish police Monday arrested 14 suspects in anti-narcotics operations conducted in three different provinces, according to police officials.

The officials, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, said nine of the suspects were arrested in the southern province of Adana.

During the search, a haul of 49 kilograms of marijuana was also seized.

In western Kütahya province, police stopped a car and found synthetic drugs in the vehicle. Four suspects were arrested, while one of them was remanded in custody by a court.

Police in western Kocaeli province also found 11.5 kilograms of marijuana in a car. One suspect was arrested, who was later remanded in custody by a court.
