Former Deputy PM’s son-in-law arrested over FETÖ ties


The son-in-law of former Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç was arrested in Ankara as a part of an ongoing investigation into the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ) on Monday.Ekrem Yeter was first detained at his residence and later referred to the prosecutor's office to testify. The decision for arrest was later ruled by an Ankara court after hours.He had been working as an associate professor in the Yıldırım Beyazıt University's Medicine Faculty but was dismissed from his post in line with a decree law over his suspected ties to the terror group.FETÖ is blamed for running a campaign to overthrow the Turkish government through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary. Thousands of FETÖ members were detained and arrested following the putsch attempt staved off thanks to public resistance.
