Professor Dr. Erdem Yeşilada, head of the Pharmacognosy and Phytotherapy department at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Pharmacy, stresses that we need to be careful of these highly contagious viruses, saying: "People with weak immune systems and children are infected the most. Despite not causing any permanent damage, it will certainly ruin your time if you are on vacation, or your day if you are at work." Yeşilada warns: "You do not need to panic and take up antibiotics and anti-acid drugs. There is no effective medicine for this virus either. You can reduce and prevent the effect of your complaints simply with herbal tea."

According to Yeşilada, you should put a bag of cinnamon or clove, Melissa, sage, fennel and ginger teas each in a pot and add 2 cups to 3 cups (300 milliliters) of freshly boiled water at 80 degrees Celsius. Let it brew for 10 minutes. Drink it without sugar, as sugar increases diarrhea. Repeat this process three or four times a day.
Yeşilada assures patients that ginger is the most effective preventative for nausea and vomiting. It will help cure problems in your stomach, along with fennel. Sage, clove and cinnamon will help your body fight germs. Melissa will both relieve the problems in the abdomen and soothe you. If these complaints also develop in the people around you, since the virus is highly contagious, you are recommended to drink this herbal mix as protection.
Swallowing a spoon of black tea with the help of water will stop diarrhea more quickly, according to Yeşilada. And do not forget to drink plenty of water.
