NATO's 'Dynamic Manta' submarine warfare drill kicks off in Italy

NATO's annual submarine warfare exercise "Dynamic Manta" held from Feb. 25 to March 8, with the participation of the naval forces of Turkey, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom and the U.S. in Palermo, Italy, began on Monday.

The Gallipoli frigate, Gür submarine and a maritime patrol aircraft P-235 of the Turkish Naval Forces attended the exercise.

The 'Dynamic Manta' drill is one of NATO's most challenging exercises, providing allied countries a prime opportunity to jointly practice naval skills and providing the alliance with an arena to evaluate and further develop anti-submarine warfare tactics.
