Rivers in Türkiye's Van start getting ice cover

The surfaces of streams in Van's Özalp district have become frozen – a welcome development that also results in lovely scenery.

The streams formed by the rivers in the snow-covered Tepedam area of the district offer breathtaking views with their images filtering through the white cover, Van, eastern Türkiye, Jan. 20, 2023.

Images of the creeks and streams, which curl like the capillaries of nature among the snow cover, were captured by a drone.

As the temperature dropped to minus 15 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) at night in the district, the surface of the streams became covered with ice.
