With the Russian invasion battering Ukraine, many found themselves unable to bring their furry friends along, and many pets were simply left alone after their owners died in the indiscriminate attacks.

Volunteers venture into the devastated cities such as Irpin and Bucha to seek the cats and dogs, trapped or simply lost in the ruins and bring them to Lviv.

The shelter was previously used as a rehabilitation center for wild animals but now hosts almost exclusively domestic animals.
