From Antalya with love: Christmas wreaths made by Turkish women

The handmade wreaths made completely with natural forest waste have been made since the 1990s and shipped around the world to adorn the Christmas setting.

Made out of pine scraps and cones, juniper, cypress branches, sandalwood and myrtle fruit the women work them together into beautiful wreaths.

Stationed in Turkey's southern province Antalya the women get busy with the adornments to deliver right on time for the holidays.

The housewives start their work in August and continue until the first week of December depending on their orders.

The wreaths are sold to many European countries, including Netherlands, Britain, Germany, Denmark and Finland.

In 2021 alone 500,000 wreaths were exported from the sunny city of Antalya to the world.
