Senegalese striker Demba Ba, who is currently on loan at Beşiktaş, Chelsea star Eden Hazard, Crystal Palace's Yohan Cabaye and Fenerbahçe star Moussa Sow are investing in San Diego's first professional soccer team.
The club is set to compete in the North American Soccer League (NASL,) the second tier in the US and would carry an importance for San Diego who has a population of 3.5 million and 50 thousands football players with license.
Hazar said he is honored to turn this dream into a reality and can't wait to get started and win some games.
The club's name, logo, and strip are not announced yet but a plan for a 10,000-seater stadium inside a complex is done. The team, however, will play their home matches at the University of San Diego.
The new club will make their league debut next season, which begins in the spring, according to the NASL.
