Real Madrid face Bayern Munich; Barcelona meet Juventus in CL

Holders Real Madrid meet German champions Bayern Munich, while Spanish rivals Barcelona are up against Italy's Juventus in the quarter finals of football's Champions League. The draw made in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday also brought together Borussia Dortmund and Monaco, while Premier League champions Leicester City face Atletico Madrid. Barcelona and Juventus met in the 2015 final which the Spanish side won 3-1 in Berlin. Juve meanwhile knocked Barcelona out in the quarter-finals of the 2002/03 Champions League. Real Madrid have won their last three games against Bayern, including in the 2013/14 semi-finals when then coached by current Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti. There was some relief in Spain and Germany that the draw did not produce "el clasico" between Real and Barca, or an all-Bundesliga clash between Bayern and Dortmund. The three Spanish sides also avoided each other altogether, with Liverpool and Wales legend Ian Rush drawing Atletico against Leicester, who put out Spain's Sevilla in the previous round. However the pairings have brought together what most commentators would consider the four favourites in the the ties, which will take place on April 11/12 and April 18/19.
