Fenerbahçe climb 6 spots in UEFA rankings


Fenerbahçe showed remarkable improvement in the UEFA Clubs Ranking, climbing six spots to 36th place. Fenerbahçe defeated English powerhouses Manchester United 2-1 and Dutch side Feyenoord 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League group matches. Fenerbahçe raised their points tally to 24.040. Real Madrid have moved to the top of the UEFA rankings. They are followed by Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.As for the other Turkish teams, Galatasaray are ranked 24th, Beşiktaş 54th, Trabzonspor 78th, Osmanlıspor 131st and Konyaspor 167th.The club coefficient rankings are based on the results of clubs competing in the five previous seasons of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. The rankings determine the seeding of each club in all UEFA competition draws. Clubs are also awarded an additional point if they reach the round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals or final. Clubs are also guaranteed a minimum of two points if they reach the group stage and are awarded an additional point if they get to the quarter-finals, semi-finals or final.
