All eyes are on today's battle of the biggest teams in Turkish football as Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe set to face each other. Both sides are locked in a heated battle to prove who is capable of becoming this year's champions.

The visiting side, Beşiktaş, have not lost an official game this season, and as their recent Champions League Group stage match against Benfica showed, they have created a true fighter's mentality that has allowed them to come back from deficits on many occasions.

Fenerbahçe have also made a remarkable return to both the Turkish Super League and Europa League, after picking up humiliating results in both. Thus, we have two teams confident about their game and with both teams not having experienced collapses in the recent period; only a draw would keep the status quo alive. There are some similar points in the strategies of these two teams, but their individualistic approach is the point where they are identical. Both teams exploit individual talent to cover the lack of organized collective action. Whenever players assume the role of collective action individually and solve the strategic issues that should have been solved before the game that is when Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe make progress.

Of course, the Super League and even some Champions League games can be won on individual talent alone, but in order to crown Beşiktaş or Fenerbahçe as definite winners or losers, the sides should create repeatable, collective organizations for us to assess.

Secondly, both teams tend to shape their game according to the quality of their opponent, and what kind of strategy they tend to implement. Beşiktaş used to play their own, sustainable game last season, where you could see the pre-planned patterns of collective action. Fenerbahçe also at least had a defensive habit, which also demands a great amount of preparation. Nonetheless, this year, both teams "choose" to play defensively or offensively, according to the needs of the day, which means they do not train themselves to be an expert of a strategy, but merely a chaotic operator of a notion.

Thus, there is always a limit to their football and they often fail to achieve the result they want to see on the pitch.

Except the unpredictability of the organizational structures on the pitch, the game's faith will be determined by the side which will utilize the deficiencies of the other most. Fenerbahçe opts for an aggressive, imbalanced game on their home turf, and if you let them control the pace of the game they can use the momentum to finish the game before it even starts.

But, of course their stamina is not enough to keep intense pressing and swift counters throughout the game, so it can also be self-destructive for them in the long run. If Beşiktaş can keep the pace in their control and push Fenerbahçe to take more risks and spend more energy, Fenerbahçe might be forced to turn into a more controlled game in which they are not experienced.

On the other hand, Beşiktaş's performance depends on coach Şenol Güneş's bravery, whether he will dare to control the game or not. Even though he chooses to dominate Fenerbahçe, as long as Ricardo Quaresma viciously plays the balls directly to the Fenerbahçe goal, the game can easily turn into a fast, long chaotic pace, just like Fenerbahçe wants.

Beşiktaş should prioritize utilizing Oğuzhan Özyakup and his playmaking skills. A patient game operated by Özyakup would not only relieve Beşiktaş from intense pressing in the first minutes, but also make the team able to use the space and time that Fenerbahçe will give to them later in the game.
