They won only 30 points in 17 matches, stayed 11 points behind league leaders Beşiktaş and almost lost their hopes for the championship. Galatasaray won only eight of 17 matches and drew in six matches while they lost three matches.Ahead of the second half of the season, Galatasaray signed Dutch footballer Ryan Donk from fellow Istanbul club Kasımpaşa in a 2.5 million-euro ($2.69 million) deal.
