A false bomb report caused quite a stir ahead of Turkish Footbal Federation Super Cup match between Galatasaray and Bursaspor on Saturday in Ankara.
Reportedly, the police went on full alert after they received a bomb threat claiming that a bomb had been placed in the Ankara Osmanlı (Ottoman) Stadium where Galatasaray and Bursaspor would compete to win the Super Cup.
According to Bursa Hakimiyet newspaper, after the whole stadium and stands were evacuated, police dogs were brought in to sniff out the reported bomb.
After the stands, dugouts and players' locker rooms were carefully searched, extensive security measures were also taken outside of the stadium.
The police searched high and low but no suspicious packages or set ups were found.
The TFF Super Cup (Süper Kupa) is the annual super cup football match contested between the previous season's Süper Lig (Super League) champions and the Turkish Cup winners in Turkey.
