Cavendish grabs second consecutive win in Turkey


ISTANBUL — England's Mark Cavendish grabbed his second straight first spot finish in the Tour of Turkey. The Britt finished ahead of rivals Francesco Chicchi and Niccolo Bonifazio to claim the 175km span between Alanya and Kemer. "The guys rode incredible today," said Cavendish. "They delivered me perfectly to the line. I'm happy we could get another stage here at Tour of Turkey and I'm thankful I could finish the work of the guys again today." "It's been a tough couple of days for the guys," he said. "We'll try and get through tomorrow as best as possible but there's no way I can even try and defend the leader's jersey."The Tour of Turkey is the country's largest cycling event. Passing through Turkey's various geographies consisting of coasts and mountains, the event will come to a close as riders cross the Bosporus Bridge into Europe on May 4. Hosted by the Turkish president the Tour of Turkey is the world's only bi continental cycling event.
