There is no denying that Turkish cuisine has managed to win the hearts of people around the world with different palatal delights.
Bus Grill Turkish Steakhouse, managed by Turkish entrepreneur Birol Dinçli, has been chosen as the best restaurant of the year in China.
Organized every year by online Chinese magazine Thatsmag, the competition "That's PRD Food and Drink" named Dinçli's restaurant as the most successful and popular restaurant of the year with the votes of more than 900 million subscribers.
Dinçli, who worked as a chef and hotel manager around the world, said he opened his restaurants 10 months ago in southern China and aims to promote Turkish cuisine in China. "Promoting a country starts with promoting its cuisine. Bus Grill Turkish Steakhouse is the cultural ambassador of Turkey in China."
On the other hand, five Turkish restaurants based in Turkey - Nicole, Alancha, Selimiye Birtat Meyhanesi, Neolokal and Yengeç - managed to be listed as the best restaurants in the world according to La Liste, which is a list of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world and is sanctioned by France's Foreign Ministry and tourism board.
While the list is dominated by French and Japanese restaurants, Nicole, which is managed by Turkish female chef Aylin Yazıcıoğlu, makes the list for the first time with its high score.
Located in Beyoğlu, Nicole offers its visitors a palatal delight under the skies at its terrace. Nicole's menu changes every six weeks and ingredients are handpicked by chefs Kaan Sakarya and Aylin Yazıcıoğlu at Istanbul's organic markets.
