Turkish fashion designer Raşit Bağzıbağlı's latest collection will be showcased at the "Contemporary Muslim Fashions" exhibition, organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
The Rasit x Modanisa collection is the result of a collaboration between Bağzıbağlı and one of Turkey's biggest modest fashion house and e-commerce platforms, Modanisa.
The "Contemporary Muslim Fashions" is the first major museum exhibition to explore the complex and diverse nature of Muslim dress codes worldwide.
Organized by the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the exhibition will be curated by Jill D'Alessandro and Laura L. Camerlengo, who heads the museum's Costume and Textiles Arts department, with Professor Reina Lewis from London serving as consulting curator.
Tomorrow, the Rasit x Modanisa collection will hit the runway as a part of the opening event of the exhibition.
Bağzıbağlı's previous modest collections, which attracted worldwide attention, stood out with modern touches and elegant designs that brought a breath of fresh air to the modest fashion world.
In addition to Modanisa's collaboration with Bağzıbağlı, the e-commerce giant also supplied six ensembles for a catwalk show at the exhibition's opening night.
Four are dresses: A blue-white Iznik-inspired gown by Mustafa Dikmen, a chic white non-crease lace dress by JAQAR, a red gown with a flared skirt and black patterns and trim by Muslima Wear and a navy animal print dress in natural fabrics by Store WF.
There are also two Mayovera burkinis, including an embroidered navy two-piece bathing suit that was worn by Halima Aden for her ground-breaking appearance at the Miss Minnesota USA beauty pageant in November 2016.
