A haute couture brand, Dice Kayek, belonging to Turkish sisters Ayşe Ege and Ece Ege, has opened a pop-up boutique in St. Germain as part of the ongoing Paris Fashion Week and the International Contemporary Art Fair (FIAC), which will run from Oct. 20 to Oct. 23.
Speaking during the boutique's opening reception, fashion designer Ayşe Ege said the pop-up boutique allows them to interact with local people in Paris on a more personal level. Supported by the "Turquality" project promoting domestic brands, Dice Kayek's boutique brings the brand's 2016/2017 autumn and winter collection, as well as modern styles with a vintage touch. Other related events will be held with artists from different disciplines. Proceeds from the special designs at the boutique will be donated to disadvantaged girls' education. The pop-up boutique will remain open until Oct. 23.
Paris Fashion Week has been displaying colorful and tropical-inspired creations from Paule Ka and layered printed and patterned looks by Dutch designer Liselore Frowijn since it opened on Tuesday. Several designers are making their debuts for some of the world's top luxury labels in Paris. Paris is the final leg of the womenswear spring/summer 2017 catwalk calendar after the fashion weeks in New York, London and Milan. Fashionistas are eagerly awaiting the debut of the new Christian Dior artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who joined from Italian fashion house Valentino. She will be presenting her first line for the French brand today. The shows in the French capital, also home to renowned fashion houses like Chanel and Louis Vuitton, run until Oct. 5.
