ISTANBUL — Istanbul is preparing to host one of the world's largest shopping festivals, the Istanbul Shopping Fest (ISF), set to be between June 7 and 29.
The ISF, which has been organized since 2011, aims to make Istanbul , with its cultural and historical heritage, a unique destination for shopping and fashion.
Speaking at a meeting to promote the ISF, Istanbul's mayor Kadir Topbaş said that they are working on making the ISF a 'classic' of Istanbul with the experience they are accumulating each year.
Topbaş remarked that the ISF will provide several opportunities for people and said "There will even be shoes sold for TL 1 ($ 0.50). It will be both shopping and enjoyment. I believe many people will eagerly anticipate the festival."
The festival will begin on June 7 with an opening in the newly constructed Mall of Istanbul.
