Consideredone of the best Latin-jazz pianists of modern times thanks to his extraordinary instrumental techniques, Gonzalo Rubalcaba will commemorate late pianist Charlie Haden, his friend of three decades, on the stage of İş Sanat. During a night dedicated to Haden's memory, Rubalcaba, who won a Palme d'Or and four Grammy Awards as well as nominations for 15 other Grammys, will perform songs from his 2015 album "Charlie."
Rubalcaba met Haden in 1986 and found himself in the spotlight with his live performance at the Montreaux Jazz Festival. The musician is appreciated for his original works as well as collaborations with Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Al Di Meola and Herbie Hancock. Rubalcaba aims to bring a new and contemporary form to traditional Cuban music and on March 17 promises a night of jazz and good memories for music lovers in Istanbul.
