French pianist to perform at Nardis Jazz Club


Jef Giansily comes to Nardis Jazz Club's stage with his trio Thursday. Born in Paris in 1980, Giansily is a French pianist living in Istanbul. With his trio, he performs dynamic and romantic songs that invite his audience to a journey where they can discover and experience various emotions. He will be accompanied by New Yorker drummer Darrell Green and bass player Matthew Hall on the stage.Hall, who resides in Istanbul as well, has recorded with various jazz artists such as Jimmy Cobb, Justin Kauflin, Matt Wilson and Alan Parker. Additionally, drummer Green worked many prominent musicians including trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and saxophonist Red Holloway throughout the 20 years of his career. Green, who also performs Latin and Western Africa Music, is touring the world with Pharoah Sanders, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Antoine Roney, Russell Malone, Steve Turre, Wallace Roney, James Carter, Jeremy Pelt and his own band, the Darrell Green Quintet.When: ThursdayWhere: Nardis Jazz Club, Istanbul
