SALT Galata takes a peak at 19th century innovations

SALT Galata's initiative, Thursday Cinema, continues with the screening of the 2005 documentary film "EXPO: Magic of the White City."Nearly 28 million people attended the World's Colombian Exposition, a world fair held in Chicago in 1893. Despite the chaos of the 1893s workers' rights efforts, prejudice, discrimination and corruption, the World's Colombian Exposition cast a brief ray of hope for the future of humanity with the unveiling of inventions such as the "Ferris Wheel," indicative that the 20th century was close. Narrated by Gene Wilder, the documentary is a vision of one of the largest and most memorable events in world history. When: Dec. 1Where: SALT Galata, Istanbul
