Accomplished choreographer takes stage with new performance

Dancer and choreographer Korhan Başaran, who is currently continuing his career in Istanbul and New York. A dance performance titled "Relic - after Re- Rau," created by Başaran will take place at Stage Pulcherie on Nov. 11. The Turkish performer is mostly known for his dance company, with which he has been producing new projects since 2008. Thanks to the "Merit Scholarship" he received from the Cunningham Studio in New York in 2010, Başaran had a chance to work with the iconic late dancer Merce Cunningham. During his scholarship, Başaran performed as a part of Cunningham's company, while he produced his own work on the side. Having worked with Nimbus Dance Works, Project 44 and Mari Meade Dance in New York, Prometheus Dance in Boston and MDT İstanbul Project in Istanbul, Başaran's choreographies have been staged in various international festivals in the U.S. and Europe.
