Al Di Meola, one of the most respected guitar virtuosos in Turkey, comes to Istanbul on Nov. 14 at Zorlu Performing Hall. Al Di Meola performed previously in Turkey, and all the tickets for his events sold out. The guitar virtuoso will once again visit Turkey as a part of his world tour to promote his new studio album "Elysium." Born in 1954, the Italian-American musician began taking interest in music at a very early age. He made a breakthrough with his album "Friday Night in San Francisco," which he recorded with John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia. Al Di Meola's choice for his newest album's title is very interesting. "Elysium means 'total happiness.' I chose this title because I am at a very happy place in my life," he said. "My music brings past and present together. My technique unites deep emotions that I am very proud of," he added.
