Akbank Sanat will screen directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg's "Kon-Tiki" tomorrow as a part of Akbank Sanat Nordic Film Days. When young, Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl sets off for an expedition in 1947, the world holds its collective breath, awaiting the outcome. He begins his journey with a raft named Kon-Tiki and sets off on a nearly 8,000 kilometer journey on the Pacific Ocean. Since Thor and his wife Liv moved to the Marquesas Islands, Thor has been wondering whether South Americans settled Polynesia in pre-Colombian times. Although Thor does not know how to swim and has a fear of the sea, he decides to begin his journey by himself to prove his theory.
