Cycle of energy in the universe focus of exhibition
As an abstract expressionist artist, Birce Yıldız questions such concepts as the origin of matter, motion, transformation, fluidity, formation, the universe, universal order and repetitive forms in nature and cycles. The theme of Yıldız's exhibition "Mystical Search" is the relationship between the universe, matter and objects, in other words the cycle of energy. She imagines eternal energy reservoirs and paints their momentary images that pop into her mind. Yıldız is constantly looking for answers to the eternal question regarding the form that constitutes the universe. After careful reading, she concluded that the basic energy that she imagines is actually the "Thorus model," a constant, self-renewable energy form. In the exhibition, Yıldız's works are not necessarily a direct representation of this model; instead, her works are abstract expressions of the reflections of her imagination, as flows of energy in her memory. The frequent use of the color purple evokes the mystical aspect of the exhibition. Yildiz also uses precious and semi-precious stones in her mixed-media technique for the purpose of capturing their energy sources in her work. Agate, Aventurine, Fluorite and Amethyst are just a few examples of the precious stones that are used in her works. When: Until April 13Where: Gama Gallery, Istanbul
