Pianist, composer, arranger, lecturer and musicologist Janusz Szprot has a rich musical background. Since 1971, the year he began his professional musical career, Szprot has collaborated with many Polish and international jazz musicians. In 1983, he brought talented Polish and Turkish jazz musicians together to found the Poland-Turkey Jazz Ensemble. The band has performed in Ankara and at the 21st International Istanbul Music Festival. Szprot's expertize as a jazz pianist can be seen in his discography, which features more than 15 studio albums. Szprot previously worked as an academic at Ankara Bilkent University's Faculty of Music and Stage Arts as well as at Erzurum University. On March 25, he will perform the best examples from his jazz repertoire in Istanbul at Nardis Jazz Club.
