The Wein Trio comes for jazz-lovers in Istanbul


Composed of three extraordinary musicians, Thomas Lahns, Michael Arbenz and Florian Arbenz, the Wein Trio will visit Istanbul next week for an exclusive one-night show at Nardis Jazz Club. Born in 1981, Thomas Lahns began receiving bass guitar training when he was 13 year old and started his contrabass training with Wolfgang Güttler and Botond Kostyak at the Basle Music Academy in 2001. He has since collaborated with renowned figures of the music industry, such as musicians Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, Dave Liebman, Wolfgang Puschnig, Christoph Stiefel and Marcel Papaux, as well as classical music maestros Heinz Hollinger and Peter Eötvös. Michael Arbenz is the leader of several bands, including the Wein Trio. Apart from album recordings, he performed live with various bands and collaborated with many musicians, including Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, Dave Liebman, Wolfgang Puschnig, Glenn Ferris, Muneer B. Fennell, Kent Carter, Matthieu Michel and Marc Johnson. He also performed at notable classical music concerts along with names such as Pierre Boulez, Paul Sacher, Jürg Wyttenbach, Ensemble Contrechamps and Hans Zehnder. Percussionist Florian Arbenz is known around the world for him drumming skills. He won a European Culture Award in 2000 for his contributions to jazz and classical music.
