Prominent art collectors of Turkey display the best and most valuable oriental paintings in their possession at a new exhibition held in the Artam Global Art Antic Palace. The exhibition, which will continue until Feb. 15, features the best examples of western artists known for their orientalist works, such as Antoine de Favray, Jean-Leon Gerome, Amadeo Preziosi, Félix Ziem, Adolf Kaufmann, Leonardo de Mango, Rudolf Ernst, Fausto Zonaro, Alberto Pasini, Germain Fabius Brest, Hermann David Salomon Corrodi, François Leon Prieur-Bardin and Alois Schönn. The aim of the exhibition is to showcase the admiration of western artists for Ottoman-era Istanbul, its astonishing history, architecture and people, though oriental art which reflects the perspective of the West on the Islamic world. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.
