Pera Film proudly presents "The Sky Sparkles in Praise of Chekhov" film program that investigates Russian writer Anton Chekov's accomplished works through the lens of predominantly Soviet and Russian filmmakers. On Jan. 29, Iosif Kheifits' "The Lady with the Dog" will be screened as a part of the program. Based on one of Chekhov's loveliest stories, the film begins as Moscow banker Dmitry Gurov spies on a beautiful young woman, Anna, while walking her dog. Set in the early 1900s in Yalta, the film focuses on the holiday affairs of these unhappily married people. After their summer holidays, both return home, but then a chance arises for Dmitry to make a trip to Anna's hometown. When: Jan. 29 Where: Pera Museum
