As part of the 25th Akbank Caz Festival, Manu Katche will take the stage at Cemal Reşit Rey (CCR) Concert Hall today. Combining his sense of rhythm inherited from his Ivory Coast origins with formal jazz education, Katche is considered one of the rare percussionists whose unique style combines African rhythms and classical drum beats. One of the stars of the jazz festival, Katche has performed on the albums of legendary figures like Peter Gabriel, Sting, Tracy Chapman, Loreena McKennitt and Joe Satriani. Apart from that, he accompanied respected jazz artist Jan Garbarek on several albums.
